Wahaca - Stratford

Wahaca 6 Chestnut Plaza Westfield Stratford City London E20 1GL Web - www.wahaca.co.uk also on Facebook and Twitter. Tel - 02032881025 Cuisine - Mexican Visit Wahaca in Stratford after a hard days shopping for fresh tasting Mexican market food. You can not book but due to the nature of the beast if you want a quick eat you can be sat down, fed and left within 30 minutes or, if you wish, take your time and the staff will not rush you out. As it was our first time eating at this 'Loncheria' we ordered a few small dishes and a couple of burrito's. The smaller dishes ordered were the tasty black beans & cheese quesadillas, impressive sweet potato chips and the chicken wings a la mojo which are marinated in a garlic. We finished this off with a british steak and chicken tinga burritos, both wrapped in a tortilla filled with frijoles, shredded cabbage, green rice, crema & totopos. You could taste all of the delicious ingredients in these packed burritos.     The bill was c£30 for all this food and a couple of soft drinks so Wahaca also represented great value. The restaurant itself is of an 'arty' decor with the website to match. I will definitely be returning. If your not near to Stratford, the Wahaca chain can also be found in Canary Wharf, Covent Garden, Soho, White City and Bluewater. Also check the website and or Facebook to see where the mobile Street Kitchen can be found (Canada Square, Canary Wharf at time of writing). Gastro Greglarr rating 7/10 Gastro Greglarr likes - Sweet potato chips, fried and served with a super dip Gastro Greglarr dislikes - found it difficult to get the waiters attention at times but was forgive able due to the packed restaurant
